The Jewish Cemetery situated in Larnaca, has been under the operation and maintenance of the Burial Department (Hevre Kadisha) of the Chief Rabbinate of Cyprus for the past 15 years. The responsibilities of the Burial Department include overseeing all necessary burial arrangements, starting from the Tahara (purification) stage and concluding with the sealing of the grave. Additionally, the department offers guidance to the family of the deceased throughout the entire process.
In certain circumstances where the deceased is unknown to have any relatives, the Hevre Kadisha takes on the responsibility of raising funds from donors and covering the burial costs as an act of kindness.
