Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, Arie Zeev Raskin attended the University of Central Lancshire (UCLan) Cyprus’ graduation ceremony last night at the Pattichion Municipal Ampitheatre in Larnaca.
Among the officials present at the event were Mrs. Anita Demetriou, Speaker of the House of Reperesentatives and Mr. Philippos Hadjizacharias, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy.
Education holds great significance in Judaism, as reflected in the title “people of the book.” This phrase originated in the Quran, recognizing Jews and Christians as possessors of divine scriptures.
For Jews, being “people of the book” signifies the centrality of learning and education in Jewish culture.
It highlights the deep reverence for the Torah, the sacred text of Judaism, and emphasizes the importance of studying and interpreting its teachings.
Education is a sacred duty, fostering a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, shaping Jewish identity, and preserving the rich heritage of Jewish tradition for future generations.
